Rivers and Tides Sculpture Gallery

The Creamery District will be holding the 2nd annual Rivers and Tides Sculpture Gallery on September 24 in conjunction with the Creamery District Saturday Market.  Local artists will create temporary sculptures using natural objects. Our event is inspired by the work of Andy Goldsworthy and many other environmental artists who create ephemeral sculptures using only natural materials.  Artists will be creating their sculptures between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. at  the newly restored Jolly Giant Creek.

Rivers and Tides comes from the name of the documentary about Andy Goldsworthy and his art.  The 90 minute documentary will be shown free of charge at the Arcata Playhouse starting at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

If you are interested in being an artist or a sponsor of this event, please contact Louis at 707-502-7803 or at CreameryInfo@gmail.com.  Walk on artists will have a chance to try their hand at a sculpture too: a limited amount of materials will be available for the public to use.
