Artemio Jimenez of JSG Studios has just opened a retail stained glass store in the Creamery District.  For five years JGS Studios has created handmade stained glass art in their studio, but now they carry all the glass, tools and supplies you need for making your own stained glass art.  The store also sells a wide variety of finished stained glass pieces as well as the tools and materials you need for fusible glass art and mosaic art. JSG Studios store is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The address is 820 N St. Suite A, but the store entrance is actually on 9th St. side of the building.

JSG Studios holds stained glass classes the last weekend of every month from 12 to 6 p.m.    The newly remodeled studio has space for eight students to work. In the classes students learn all processes involved in making a finished stained glass work.  Students learn to choose and cut glass, to follow a stained glass pattern, to insert glass into the lead or foil, to solder, cement and patina, and to clean and finish a project.  Visit the JSG Studios website for more information.

JSG Studios creates custom stained glass windows for for clients.  They specializes in working closely with clients in order to achieve their vision for their project.  There are many of Artemio’s completed windows on display locally, the most notable are the stained glass windows of the Lutheran Church of Arcata at 151 East 16th St.
